"NOT MY JOB"
Excerpt From The Medical Malpractice Journal

Health Professions Licensing Bureau - Is supposed to discipline. They obviously aren't as exemplified by doctors with 20+ complaints never being disciplined.  VJC Inc. has called about numerous doctors with 10 or more complaints and multiple findings.  We are told that these doctors licenses are "in good standing and they have never been disciplined."
Attorney Generals Office - Says they can only work with the laws they're given by legislators. Don't even work with those as there are already laws against fraud, concealment, assault etc…We have plenty of laws. They are just being selectively enforced. A.G Office says they have no jurisdiction over hospitals.
Legislators - Say they don't get involved in medical issues unless, of course, you're a medical lobbyist.
Department of Health and Human Services -say they don't get involved in medical issues. Shalala agreed during Health Care Forum that they don't get involved because there "are such large, competing interests. "
U.S. Attorneys - Say FBI must first investigate. That they don't tell them to.
FBI - Says U.S. Attorneys office must first tell them to investigate. Says Insurance companies must first complain about fraud. Says if consumer is billed it is then the responsibility of local law enforcement.
Insurance Company - Say they assume doctors act in good faith and pay anyway. Says they do not get involved "in quality of care issues."
Local Law Enforcement - Won't take complaints claiming it is a civil matter. Says, "It falls under the Medical Malpractice Act."
Prosecutors Office - Doesn't prosecute says it is civil.
Justice Department - Says it is a local issue.
Professional Organizations - Say it is best dealt with on a local level. (Because everybody knows everybody else and won't do anything?)
The National Practitioners Data Bank (NPDB) - Is not reported to as it should be and it doesn't matter because it isn't open to the public.
Governors Office - Says they are strictly Executive Branch
Department of Insurance - Takes complaints only
Peer Review - Says less than 20 % of the cases it hears has merit.
Judges - Say that they don't have jurisdiction to determine a medical malpractice case, yet, will order the victim/survivor to pay the bill regardless of the extent of injury suffered by the victim or the misconduct of the "doctor."  They then use the authority and jurisdiction that hey claim they don't have to order garnishment or a lien.
